When 23-year-old Arjun Mehra, a bright and ambitious lawyer, reached out to me on June 25, 2021, he was desperate for help. His life, once on a promising trajectory with plans to pursue higher studies in the UK, had been derailed by debilitating anxiety and haunting dreams. The symptoms weren’t just disruptive—they were consuming his existence.

This is the story of how we unraveled the intricate layers of his mind and guided him back to a fulfilling life.

The Beginning of the Journey

Arjun’s struggle began with a recurring nightmare of his maternal uncle gasping for air in a hospital, pleading for help, and ultimately passing away. This haunting image, coupled with the real-life tragedy of losing his uncle to COVID-19, created an emotional storm. Anxiety began to dominate his days and nights, leaving him unable to sleep alone or focus on his future.

His fears were overwhelming:

  • A sense of impending doom.

  • Anxiety attacks that left him breathless.

  • The belief that he was on the verge of losing his mind.

When Arjun shared his plight during our initial video consultation, I knew we needed to act fast. After conducting a detailed history and a Mental Status Exam (MSE) during an in-person session at the BLK-MAX Super Speciality hospital on June 27, I diagnosed him with panic disorder.

The Therapy Plan: Regression Therapy

The root cause of Arjun’s panic disorder lay in unresolved subconscious imagery—his haunting dreams, fears of death, and feelings of being trapped. To address this, I recommended regression therapy, a powerful technique that helps release deeply embedded emotions and images stored in the subconscious mind.

Session 1 (June 28):
In our first session, we delved into Arjun’s subconscious mind. He relived the dream in a controlled environment, allowing his mind to reframe the experience. By the end of the session, he reported a remarkable 70% improvement in his symptoms.

Session 2 (June 30):
Building on the first session, we addressed residual fears and emotional triggers. His anxiety levels dropped significantly, and he felt an incredible 95% improvement.

Session 3 (July 6):
We focused on reinforcing his emotional stability and resolving lingering fears. His confidence soared, and the anxiety that once overshadowed his days had nearly disappeared.

Session 4 (July 23):
The final session served as a comprehensive review, ensuring that all residual anxiety was addressed. By this point, Arjun’s panic disorder was fully resolved.

The Outcome: A Life Restored

Arjun’s transformation was nothing short of extraordinary. With his anxiety under control, he regained his lost confidence and was ready to pursue his dreams. His father, who accompanied him during the sessions, shared the family’s immense relief and gratitude.

In the days following the therapy, I received an email from Arjun:

"I visited Dr. Prabal through reference, for my anxiety. He was able to identify my issues and address them suitably. He delivered whatever he promised. He's well-informed and experienced in his field. It is very important to get the right help at the right time, and that's why I'd totally suggest him for anyone who's suffering from any mental or psychological issues. He's a great and effective Psychologist and Healer. Thank you for all the help. I'm grateful.”

Uncovering the Layers: A Deeper Look

Arjun’s past offered valuable insights into his condition:

  • Emotional triggers: The sudden loss of his uncle during the pandemic left a profound impact.

  • Unresolved fears: A brief episode of blanking out at Chattarpur Farms in 2020, combined with a history of vivid imagination and interest in horror stories, may have contributed to his heightened sense of doom.

  • Stressors: Academic pressures, family expectations, and his own ambitions to excel added to his emotional burden.

Our sessions didn’t just address his anxiety—they helped him understand himself better. He realized that his fears were manifestations of unresolved emotions rather than impending realities.

A Message of Hope

Arjun’s case is a powerful reminder that even the right approach can illuminate even the darkest corners of the mind. Panic disorder, though overwhelming, is treatable. Regression therapy offered Arjun a pathway to release his fears, reclaim his peace, and step confidently into his future.

If you or someone you know is battling anxiety or unresolved fears, remember that timely intervention can make all the difference. Reach out, seek help, and take the first step towards healing.
